Hey there, thanks for visiting!
I’m John Patrick S. Ledesma, a student taking Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English and I am from Capiz State University-Burias Campus located in Brgy. Burias, Mambusao, Capiz, Philippines. Teaching has always been my desired passion, and I was lucky enough to train that passion beyond my home country. I recently had the chance to have my internship in Yogyakarta, Indonesia for 25 days under the 10th Batch of SEA Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange Program, where I was assigned to Kinderstation School which is also located in Yogyakarta. My host university, Universitas Mercu Buana Yogyakarta, welcomed me with open arms and guided me throughout my teaching journey.
Living and teaching in a different country was both exciting and challenging. I had to adapt to a new culture, adjust to different teaching styles, step out of my comfort zone, and think outside the box. But through it all, I gained valuable experiences that shaped me not just as a teacher, but as a person. I met amazing and loving students, worked with hardworking and inspiring teachers, and made friendships that I will cherish forever.
This blog is my way of sharing those experiences with you. From my first day in Indonesia to the ups and downs of my classroom journey, I’ll be writing about everything I’ve learned along the way. Whether you're a fellow education student, someone interested in cultural exchange, or just curious about life as an intern abroad, I hope my stories give you invaluable insight and inspiration. Thanks for dropping by, and I hope you enjoy reading!
